“Hi I’m Danny Williams here in Outer Cove just outside of St. Johns. In Canada’s youngest and coolest province Newfoundland and Labrador. And I’m here today to issue a challenge, and even encourage you to participate in Canada In A Day.”

Danny Williams, Q.C., LLB, Hon. DD.L Born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Mr. Williams completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at Memorial University, after which he was awarded the Rhodes Scholarship in 1969. Upon receiving a degree in Arts in Law from Oxford University in England he returned to Canada to earn a Bachelor of Law degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax. In 2003, Mr. Williams was elected as the 9th Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador. During his time in office he consistently enjoyed approval ratings above 75 per cent. Among his government’s greatest accomplishment was negotiating groundbreaking agreements with the largest oil and gas companies in the world resulting in unprecedented equity stakes, royalty rates and local benefits. Since returning to the private sector, Mr. Williams has become the franchise holder of the farm team for the NHL Montreal Canadiens. The St. John’s IceCaps, have led the league in key indicators since their inaugural season in 2011.
