Jacob Tremblay

“Hi. My name is Jacob Tremblay and I’m from Vancouver BC, and I’m challenging all you kids to film your life and tell us about what you like about Canada on September 10th for Canada In A Day.”

Jacob Tremblay is a Canadian-born actor who began acting in 2010 and was featured in several national and international commercials. At five years old, Jacob quickly transitioned to the big screen when he booked his first audition for film or television and was cast in Smurfs 2. Following this, Jacob went on to film the lead role in Room, Lenny Abrahamson’s Oscar nominated film, based on the international best selling book by Emma Donoghue. For his role of Jack in the film, Jacob was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award and won a Critic’s Choice Award. Jacob will be seen on the big screen in three films in 2016: a supporting lead role in Shut In opposite Naomi Watts; the lead role in Before I Wake opposite Kate Bosworth and Thomas Jane, and a lead role with Jaden Lieberher, Sarah Silverman and Naomi Watts in Colin Trevorrow’s next film, The Book of Henry. When Jacob is not filming he enjoys learning, playing on his X-box, discussing Star Wars and playing with Lego.
