Melanie Mark is Nisga’a, Gitxsan, Cree and Ojibway and a proud mother of two girls. She was born and raised in East Vancouver and was elected on February 2nd, 2016 with the BC NDP as the first ever First Nations woman to serve in the BC Legislature. She is now the Deputy Housing Spokesperson with the Official Opposition and has made a great impact in BC politics with her warrior strength since she has been elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly.
